Lots Happening!

It's been so long since I posted.  We have had a lot going on.  Hubby has had yet another surgery for his back.  The bottom part of his fusion did not take so they went back in through his stomach last July and we were told in January that it was finally growing.  However he is still having issues and movement because the fusion is not solid so we may be facing yet another surgery.  Please pray that if this happens this will be the one that fixes everything.  I hate seeing him in pain.

We have both been on the Keto diet and have done very well.  He has dropped 70 lbs and I have dropped 54 lbs.  We are sticking with it as we still have a little more to go.

The great nieces and nephews are all growing so much.  Hannah Kate in the last post will be 2 in August.  Time sure flies by.

I have been able to spend a little more time quilting lately.  We still have a quilt ministry at church and I went to quilt retreat a couple of weeks ago and had a blast.  It feels good to be able to sew more.

We have 4 quilts finished for church and 3 more throw size, 2 more baby tops ready to quilt and 2 baby quilts ready for binding.  I'm going to be busy.
I have a several projects started that I want to get finished and am working on them slowly.  I hope to be sewing some this weekend after I get all the flowers made for Memorial Day.

We have started planting the garden and the beans are up and other plants are doing well.  We should be planting tomatoes and okra either tonight or tomorrow night. It will take up some of my time but well worth it having the fresh veggies to eat.

So Much Going On

I have had so much going on.  First we have a new great niece in the family.  Her name is Hannah Kate and she was born on July 28th.

Second we have been busy working on the ministry quilts for our church.  We have handed 3 out so far and we are finishing up another one to be giving hopefully Sunday.  One went to a precious family who adopted a sweet little baby girl.

This one went to a man who was diagnosed with leukemia and after going through chemo has been told he is cancer free.

This one went to a man that had a stroke and is recovering very well.
Our group has done an amazing job with these quilts.

I also made a Florida/University of Tennessee quilt for our nephew who got married in March.  He is a Volunteer fan and our new niece is a Gator fan - Gasp LOL.  It was a beautiful wedding and we are very blessed have her in the family.

I have also made a couple of baby quilts for members at church who have had little ones.

Next I have very busy with our garden.  Lots of veggies coming in.  I have canned 24 pints of dill pickles.  My first attempt at them.  I made cream corn out of 10 dozen ears of corn to go in the freezer and I have made 9 1/2 pints of hot salsa so far with more to be made.  We have also given away a lot of veggies and my Mom has put up 21 quarts of green beans from our garden.

I haven't taken pics of the salsa yet, but I will.

I am also work on this quilt for our ministry plus a disappearing 9-patch.

I made 25 flower power blocks for a swap that a few friends did.  I got the swapped blocks back this week so I am now ready to assemble them into a quilt. I did this one.
This is what it looks like after they are cut and swapped.

Shelter Quilts

My friend Connie and I have been busy bees making quilts for our local homeless shelter. We have completed 8 quilts for them. We wanted to do something to make it feel a little more like home for the people who will be staying there.

They had their dedication on the 18th and that's when we gave them the quilts then. They were very grateful to get them.

Here are pics of the completed quilts. Each had a comforting Bible verse on them.
