Busy Weekend

It has been a very busy weekend around here.  First off I have tomatoes coming out of my ears so I put up 24 pints, 3 quarts and 1 half-pint of salsa.  The first run was hot, the second was mild and the third was medium.  Should have enough to last through the winter and then some.  Although that used lots of tomatoes I still have plenty.  So Mom will be using some to make salsa also and we will be canning the rest plain to use in soups, etc this winter.

I also managed to get the binding together for the baby quilt and sewn on the front.  I am in the process of sewing it to the back and still have the label to make for it.  My Neice and Nephew are going to love it and I can't wait to finish it and give it to them.

Happy Stitching Everyone!

New Baby in the Family!

Good Morning Everyone!  I have a new Great Nephew and his name is Logan.  He was born lastnight and weighted 6 lbs and 3 ozs.  He is a sweetheart.

I haven't gotten to hold him yet but will soon.  Momma and baby are doing great.

The baby quilt I mentioned in the last post is for him and I still have to put the binding and label on it. Hope to get that completed this week. Below is his quilt.  It is from recycled shirts and a neutral and even has some of his Great Uncle's shirts in it.

I have lots of veggies in the garden to put up this week also so it will be busy with all that is going on plus work.

Happy Stitching Everyone,
Anna

Ahhhh Summer

It's been a while since I posted anything.  I have got to do better about that.  Our guild  had Bonnie Hunter here in March and we had a blast with her.  We had a lecture and two days of workshops and I haven't touched one of the patterns since the workshop.  The other one is in the process of getting borders made for it.  It is a baby quilt for my great nephew that is due on or before August 9th, which happens to mine and my husband's anniversary.  :)   I promise to post pictures of the baby quilt when finished. I hope to have it ready for quilting by the weekend.

I haven't been doing much sewing and am trying to get back into it.  We did manage to get the garden out and are gathering all the goodies that are coming in from it.  Although we have one row of green beans that are not doing anything so I will have to replant them.  If they do well we will be canning again and I have enough cucumbers with what I gathered lastnight for a run of pickle relish.  Mom has already made a run of chopped pickles and put up nine pints of green beans out of our garden.

She gathered everything last week while we were at the beach on vacation.  We had a great time but a week is just not long enough to spend at the beach.  I could go back today but guess we will have to wait until next year.  I did manage to get to the quilt shop there.  We went to Hilton Head and they have a great little quilt shop named "Island Quilters".  They are so friendly and helpful and have a great selection of fabric and supplies.

The nineteenth our guild is doing a free day of workshops and I hope to attend just to work on one of my UFO's while eveyone else does the workshops. I need to get some things completed.

Happy Stitching!
